The idea of dismantling systems of inequality and oppression is daunting, but change can happen one girl at a time, by exposing them to the stories of how powerful, strong women before them grew and evolved to overcome the same hardships they face.
Educating girls that they can be leaders can contribute to the dismantling of social, political, and economic structural inequities within our community in New Rochelle, as well as nationally and globally.
I want young girls in our community who are immigrants or first-generation children of immigrants to feel seen and understood. I want to provide them tools and resources they can use. I want them to have role models to inspire them.
